Mehdi wins!

Congratulations to Mehdi Pouroskoui (Head instructor of Kb-1 and instructor trainer of Kru Joey de Los Reyes) for winning the PK-1 Championships in Phuket, Thailand against an opponent that was 15 lbs heavier via unanimous decision ! Mehdi all of your students of the Kombat Arts Training Academy are extremely happy for your win and we look forward to your speedy safe return so that we may celebrate!

Kombat Boxing Show

On December 2nd, Kombat Arts held a Boxing Show that showcased two of our fighters. Jackie Jachna was victorious in giving her opponent 2 standing 8 counts in the 2nd round and Nenad Cvejic lost to a rather dubious decision that left the crowd in confusion and disappointment. Decision aside Nenad fought very well and we look forward to seeing him fight on our future shows. Awesome fights guys and congratulations to both of you!

Boxing Provincial Results

Our boxing team did very well at the Open Provincial Championships. Congratulations to Stephen Zea for his Gold Medal, Zishan Khan for winning a Gold Medal, and to Mo Abedeen for his Silver Medal. Great work guys and Rafael for coaching our boxing team to these great wins.

Marcus wins again!

Congratulations to Marcus Grech for his 3rd Muay Thai win at the November 25 CAMTAO event hosted by Chris Kew. Marcus fought a game opponent and we look forward to his victories in the new year to come. Also congrats to our friends from Kombat Fitness for their victories and thanks to Kru Eddie, Kru Joey, Kru Dj and Marcus’ training partners that made this victory possible.

Sly on a roll!

Fresh of his victorious MMA fight, Sylwester Organka won his Muay Thai fight by unanimous decision at Fight Night XI, hosted by Mehdi Pouroskoui, owner of KB-1 in Vancouver, BC on November 18. Sly performed very well, demonstrating great technique and sportsmanship, winning over many new fans and friends, even winning an award for Fight of the Night! Congrats also goes out to our friend Josip Juros of KB-1 for his Muay Thai win by split decision. Thanks again to all of the coaches and sparring partners, and to the great hospitality shown by Mehdi, Barb, the students of KB-1, Josip and his family.

RAVEN in Vancouver

Our very own Linda de los Reyes of RAVEN Self Defense was also in Vancouver, teaching a Level 1 Self Defense course at KB-1 to a class of 25-30 women. The course concentrated on verbal tactics, legalities, awareness and avoidance skills, proper mind setting, and finally techniques to gain escape. This class was very well received and at the end of the course many females approached Linda thanking her for a great course, some even stating how “it changed their lives,” and how they will be looking forward to her return when she will be teaching a level 1 and 2 course. Great work Linda, we all know how passionate you are of the martial arts, especially the self defense aspect, and it truly shows in your world class seminars.
