Andrea Nucci has been training in martial arts for eight years under Kru Joey de los Reyes. Her training has focused on Muay Thai kickboxing and she has participated in the amateur fighting scene. She also trains in boxing, Savate Boxe Française and women’s self defense.
When Andrea first started at Kombat Arts in 2003 there were only a few women members. “It was tough and intimidating to jump into classes made up of all men. Through strength and determination I have become a strong powerful fighter,” she says. “Training in martial arts has made me a fearless, confident woman. This is why I am very happy to be instructing an all-women’s class at Kombat Arts. I want women to have a comfortable place to start their training and a class where all women members can support each other.”
Andrea believes it is important for people, especially women, to find their strength and to learn how to protect themselves. She says, “martial arts is a discipline of the mind, body and soul. With it you can always find your power.”
