(St. Catharines) – Shadi Nader, Jonathan Gofar and Lexton Bates, three amateur boxers training out of Kombat Arts Training Academy in Mississauga, came away with three gold medals after competing in the Ray McGibbons Gloves Tournament.
A Male Novice Junior fighting in the 60-64kg weight class, Jonathan Gofar Knocked Out Andre Findley (Cabbagetown Boxing) at the ten-second mark of the first round.
Fighting in the Male Novice Senior division, fighting in the 60-64kg weight class, Shadi Nader defeated Troy Hartman (Cabbagetown Boxing) via walkover. Lexton Bates, another Male Novice Senior, fighting in the 64-69kg weight class, defeated Joe Elliot of Barrie at the one-minute mark of the first round by referee stoppage.
