Congrats to our friend Brian Beauchamp who returned home from Rio Janeiro, Brazil with two gold medals and became the first Canadian ever to win both the Pan American and World Master and Seniors Jiu Jitsu Championships. Brian who just took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2 years ago while visiting Black Trunks Martial Arts in Fort Myers, Florida. Brian received his Blue Belt in just one month, and promised Sean he would not regret his fast promotion. Since then Brian has gone on a tear winning the 2007 Grapplers Quest Canadian Grappler of the Year, the Pan Ams and Masters Mundials in both his category and the Absolute Division.
Brian gives all the credit to his home club and training partners from Team Kombat Arts of Mississauga, Ontario . Beauchamp, a Toronto Firefighter, is a 3rd degree Black Belt in Judo, a BJJ Blue Belt and a former member of the Canadian National Judo Team.
