The Kombat Arts Thai boxing Team did very well at the CASK Thai boxing Provincials held in Kingston. It was a great event and there are a lot of people that we have to thank. Thanks to Maz and the CASK organization for putting in the time and effort for a great event. Thanks to David, Sly, Roberto, Rafael and Lee for all of the attention they gave to all of the athletes and for working the corner. Thanks to Brian for officiating at this event. Thanks to all of the coaches and sparring partners that are too numerous to mention here. Ok here is the summary of the weekend:
Kareem Hamilton won his match in the 1st round due to referee stoppage. He won the Provincial Championship for Low Kick
Kyran Cameron won his match by unanimous decision. He won the Provincial Championship for Low Kick
Max Grech unfortunately had his match cancelled, but him and his opponent did an excellent exhibition match
Headly Hinds (PeeWee) lost by majority decision in a very exciting match
On day 2 Kyran Cameron won his match by referee stoppage in the 2nd round. He won the Provincial Championship for Thai boxing
Paolo Sison Dultra won his match by unanimous decision. Paolo had to gain weight in 3 days and had to fight a heavier opponent. He won the Provincial Championship for Thai boxing
Nikoli Jerbic got caught in the 1st round and unfortunately we could not stop the bleeding. We were forced to put an early stop to his match, but we look forward to watching him perform in the future.
As a final note I am proud to say that myself and the Kombat Arts got the award for the Most Supportive Club in this organization. I could not have done it without my fellow coaches and students. Thanks guys-it felt good to walk away with a lot of awards-Jd
