Ok I believe the testing date for the challenge is June 14, but to clarify, please ask Linda (it's her crazy idea :) ). Remember the goal is to challenge yourself; improve your physical abilities. We will give you 9 weeks to improve in these categories. We will post strategies and diet ideas on the blog here and you have to come to the konditioning class and do your home work. Here is the Challenge: Hand Stand Push Ups Number of tries: 2 (back to back) The student must be able to successfully hold a handstand against a matted wall (crash mat), and push up and down by bending and straightening the elbows a couple of inches. Wall Squat Number of tries: 1 Positioning of the body must be a flat back against the wall, hands up; not resting on legs on against the wall, and hamstrings must remain parallel to the ground. The stopwatch is only started after the correct positioning is assumed. Time is stopped as soon as positioning falters by student raising butt, dropping butt or by using hands to assist in the drill. Stork Stance Number of tries: 2 (back to back) Must assume stork position and hold for time. As soon as balance falters or raised foot comes off the stationary leg, time is stopped and recorded. Chin Ups (Females) Number of tries: 1 Must be full extension chin ups. Straight arm start, to chin above bar and all the way down again. No half attempts to be counted, and no continuously bent arm chins. FULL EXTENSION CHIN UPS ONLY. Pull Ups (Males) Number of tries: 1 Must be full extension pull ups. Straight arm start, to chin above bar and all the way down again. No half attempts to be counted, and no continuously bent arm pulls. FULL EXTENSION PULL UPS ONLY. 3 x Hill Run (Centennial Park) Number of tries: 1 Student must run/walk up and down the designated hill at Centennial Park 3 times, for time. Ok, you may be saying I can't even do any of this. That's ok, let us see if you can train yourself to do 1. That's the challenge, train yourself to do a technique, even 1, or if you can already do it, let's see you improve the amount or time. Good luck guys! Jd
