[gallery link="file" columns="2"] Packing at 12.00 AM was a disaster, so I called it a night and passed out. Ok, I finally got my packing done (3 bags later, toilet paper, books, electronic devices, Pringles, Gummi bears, chocolate bars…) in the afternoon (just before I’m supposed to be at the airport), gave a hug to BlackJack and the team started to make its way to Austria. We have made our 1st stop in Munich, Germany, approximately 3.00 AM your time! So here I am in Munich, drinking free coffee, plugging away on this blog in a café / lounge of sorts. It was not really obvious to me while I was in Italy last year, but there is a lot of security in Europe, and it seems to be the norm to have police officers walking around with machine guns. There are also a couple of piks of wanted terrorists posted about. Half of the team is wiped out (there are 20 athletes, 5 coaches and 3 spectators) with the other half trying to shop and stay awake. I grabbed this really cool mini drawing kit from www.fabrianoboutique.com. I also took this opportunity to grab some wholesome German beef, sauerkraut and dumplings, just in case the food is not up to my standards while in Austria. We’re not allowed to drink alcohol because of our CASK regs, so it’s kind of funny to be in Germany and NOT drink any beer. Ah well, maybe on the way back J. The athletes look healthy, just a bit grumpy and tired. I have 2 more hours here, than I continue on to Austria. I’ll keep you guys posted, Jd
