Update: Seminar has been cancelled. If you still haven't grabbed tix for the Andy Souwer seminar on Oct. 30, head over to the Events and Seminars page -- you can now easily purchase tickets through PayPal! Also, big congrats to Andy on his recent win over Hinata at the Shoot Boxing Ishin 4 event in Tokyo last month. Coming off an eight-month layoff due to injury, Andy won by submission via standing choke in a whip-fast 48 seconds. SECONDS. Absolutely crazy. Don't miss your chance to train with this incredible fighter. I was reading an old interview with Andy from 2007 where the reporter asked him who his toughest match-ups were. Said Andy:

I fought a war with Buakaw in 2005. I fought a war with Masato and Kalakoda in 2006. I got my a-- kicked by Kraus in 2003 and lost against Buakaw in 2006, so I do not know. I always look ahead and try to learn from the past.
Check out the interview -- it's amazing to see how humble Andy is throughout. This is a guy who had held three separate world titles by the time he was 18. That's before we here in Ontario are even able to legally drink. As for his war with Buakaw in 2005 (which Andy won via split decision), the two fought again in 2006 and once more in 2009, with Andy leading the trilogy 2-1. They certainly were wars, and fans are still debating about the judges' decisions. Andy's had plenty of dominant performances and you can see he's right: Buakaw was one of his toughest opponents ever. His highlight reels will showcase his dominant skills, but it's gruelling battles like these that also really show Andy's amazing heart. I've linked both fights below the jump. Not only are they good primers on how seasoned of an instructor you're getting at the seminar, both fights are excellent displays of the different kickboxing styles of Thailand and the Netherlands.
