Daniel Thiessan from Radix Performance will be on hand to train our Kombat Warriors on the Deadlift. One of the King Exercises that you have to know how to do properly. Here is a write up on Daniel: "I’ve been working in the fitness industry since 2008. I started my own training company in 2009 so I could implement my own philosophy and style to my clients. This is my life, passion and everything I love that I put into my training systems. I’ve developed and refined these systems over the years with many success stories from 100 pound weight loss to championship fighters. I continue to learn and train both clients and myself on a daily basis, I read all the latest information on training and martial arts to further my knowledge and understanding of what I do, so I can in turn give that to my clients. I’ve been strength training and doing martial arts since 2005 with various strength coaches and a couple of amazing martial arts instructors. I’ve trained under Kru Joey de Los Reyes since 2005 in Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing and CSW. I train almost everyday to enhance my skills and help teach my clients. In January 2009 I received my diploma with highest honours in Fitness and Nutrition from the International Career School Canada. In February 2009 I became a Certified Fitness Trainer with the I.S.S.A. (International Sports and Science Association) Then in February 2011 I was certified as a Specialist in Strength and Conditioning with the I.S.S.A. I was then certified by the Institute of Human Performance as a Functional Training Specialist in 2011 under world renowned Strength and Conditioning Coach Juan Carlos Santana. I also spent 3 months training under Hani Kanama of Toronto Weightlifting School for Olympic weightlifting. I then became A Crossfit lvel 1 coach in March 2013. I have been competing in Crossfit over the last year with a 2nd and 1st place finish in my first 2 comps. I will continue to learn and evolve everyday of my life. I live what I teach and believe 100% in what I do. I’ve trained elite high school basketball teams of kids who have ended up with NCAA scholarships. I’ve also trained a National boxing and kickboxing champion and I’m still training her on her way to making it to the Olympics in Brazil. I’ve helped a man loose 100 pounds and reclaim his health and life. I have helped people of all shapes and sizes reach there goals in sports, training, health and life. I try to make a difference in peoples lives on a daily basis and give them a 100 % of who I am." Daniel is also responsible for training some of our boxers, notably Mackenzie Wright and Lisette Gonzales. You can also see Daniel here discussing the merits of the Foam Roller in this older post HERE. So if you want to learn how to get stronger with the Deadlift, then come to this free workshop on May 28 at 7pm.
