How to Do a Kettlebell Swing
Check out this KOMBAT ARTS TIP OF THE WEEK, on How to Do a Kettlebell Swing, with David Beckles of Dynamic Athletic Bodies:
[sd_video id="bOHH17UJpss" type="youtube"]A kettlebell is essentially a Russian training tool that resembles a cannon ball with a handle attached to it. With this piece of equipment, you can do a lot of unique exercises. However the "bread and butter" technique is the kettlebell swing.
When some people do a kettlebell swing, it resembles a squat with a swing. This is one way to use the kettlebell, but you might find a lot of pressure on the lower back. Ideally when doing a kettlebell swing, the hips should hinge backwards then forwards.
The kettlebell swing is a great way to work the core and the whole posterior chain; calves, hamstrings, lower back and upper back.
