Ontario Golden Gloves Boxing Boxing Ontario's Golden Gloves Event took place May 28-May 31 in Toronto. Kombat Boxing was strongly represented by 3 of our Athletes. First, in the 56-60kg weight class, Kunal Pun lost by split decision to a gritty veteran of over 70 boxing matches. Win or lose, we are proud of Kunal who started out as on of our Muay Thai fighters and after becoming a champion at that; is now challenging himself in a different arena. Next, in the Ladies 48-51kg Elite Open Class, Mckenzie Wright first put on a brilliant show with a win in the semi-finals, went on to take a well earned Split Decision victory in the Finals! Her third and final bout of the tournament was on Sunday where she had to face the same opponent and unfortunately things did not go her way. She lost a unanimous decision in that bout. We are truly proud of the hard work she puts in consistently and are thrilled that she is Provincial Champion! Congrats Mckenzie!               And finally, in the Mens Elite Novice 56-60kg class, Noel Garcia took a Split Decision win in the Finals with a great display of technique and determination.
