Henri Hooft took some time out on December 10th to host a workshop for some of the athletes and instructors at Kombat Arts.
Henri has been a Dutch, European and World Kickboxing Champion. He is currently a pro trainer who has worked with some of the top fighters in the world including Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Anthony Johnson, Michael Johnson, Ryan Laflare, Thiago Silva, Abel Trujillo, Tom Niinimaki, Guto Innocente, Sean Soriano, Gilbert “Durinho” Burns, Cezar Ferreira, Hans Stringer, Eddie Alvarez, Tyrone Spong, Gesias Cavalcante.
One of the fighters that Henri trains is no. 1 ranked light heavyweight contender Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (UFC).
Henri was in town for Johnson’s fight at UFC 206 in Toronto. Unfortunately, Johnson’s opponent Daniel Cormier pulled out due to injury and the fight was scrapped.
Henri Hooft Workshop
One of Henri’s instructors, Kerry Marine was able to organize a last-minute workshop for our fighters and instructors. Kombat Arts is grateful that Henri could spare some time to help out our fighters. He has a lot of experience to share and was a great guy to rain with.
Henri was also gracious enough to spar with a few guys after the workshop was finished.
Here’s a classic kickboxing fight featuring Henri Hooft vs. Gibraldie.
We hope to have Henri back at Kombat Arts sometime in January 2017. Please check out the blog or Facebook page for updates.
