Kombat’s Sahil Sharma a champ at only 11 years of age

Kombat's Sahil Sharma wins 2011 Canada Cup championship

Sahil Sharma, the youngest champ at Kombat Arts, won the 2011 Canada Cup championship in the 10-12 yr Light Contact Division over the weekend. Keep reading below for the full account from Poo Choi Kru Brian Naidu and for videos of Sahil’s three matches. Congrats Sahil!

11 year old, Sahil Sharma has been training with us for over a year now. His first tournament was the 2010 CDN Cup where he took a gold in Point Sparring and Silver in Continuous Sparring. His second event was a CASK show where kids fought during the intermission, which he won.

Sahil trained very hard for this tournament. He is a tough kid. He gets into the ring with our adult students to spar and pulls heavier weights then most students.

On Saturday, all his training paid off as he won all 3 of this fights to become the 2011 Canada Cup Champion in the 10-12yr Light Contact Division. Just to clarify, Sahil actually had 3 fights which are 3 x 2min rounds. Total of 9 rounds!

Thanks to everyone that helped get him ready for the tournament. Thanks to Dave, Tan, and Angel for working with him and he all the guys (and Ella) that sparred with him.

Great job Sahil! We are all proud of you! Next up… full contact thai fight!
