“Dynamic Stretch and Flex” with Coach David Beckles

“Ye Old Lifting Series: The Turkish Get Up” with Coach Jason de Los Reyes

When:
Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m.
and Friday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Whether you’re a Jiu Jitsu artist, are recovering from an injury, want to let out the inner turtle inside of you that has become stuck on its backside, or are simply seeking strength, the Turkish Get Up may help you find your path to enlightenment through training.

Let’s face it: as we age, our ability to mobilize and coordinate our bodies fades away. But this issue of movement is rapidly plaguing everyone, not just seniors, from today’s youth to the middle-aged and beyond.

The “Get Up” empowers you to learn a full body movement pattern that is lacking in our training diets and facing overall endangerment in gyms all over the world. Let’s work together to save this ancient artform and ourselves.

There’s something to be said about having the ability to hold an object overhead from a grounded position off of our backs, and progressively standing up and back down, that defines our character and moral fiber. It is therefore no wonder why the Old Time Strongmen of the early 1900s used the Turkish Get Up as a competitive lift where the greatest weight held overhead while standing up and then back down crowned the winner.

Aside from being an important exercise to practice, the TGU will raise your personal level of toughness and points of “badassness” through the roof!

Attendees of this performance nutrition and supplementation seminar will learn some of the most cutting-edge principles used by elite athletes post-workout to accelerate muscle repair and joint recovery for peak athletic performance. Nutrition and supplementation strategies can be a crucial addition to any athlete’s preparation but it must be approached properly.
