The Score Fighting Series in Mississauga, fight results and recap

The Score Fighting Series continued to establish itself as one of the premiere fight leagues in Canada, hitting the Hershey Centre last night for Mississauga’s first sanctioned pro-MMA event. The 10 fight card featured a good mix of established Canadian fighters, prospects, and international names.

Jordan Mein (pictured on right) came through with a unanimous decision win against Dream welterweight champ Marius Zaromskis, continuing to state a good case for a crack at the UFC. (Dana White was probably busy prepping tonight’s UFC 131 in Vancouver but hopefully he’s been paying Mein the attention he deserves.)

Octagon vets Joe Doerksen and Luigi Fioravanti slugged it out, somewhat slowly, with Doerksen racking the W. Fellow former UFC fighter Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou also did enough to earn a unanimous decision against Roy Boughton, unleashing some killer leg kicks in round one, though conditioning still seems to be an Achilles heel for the African Assassin.

Some of the best matches went down early in the night with a KO slam from Mike Reilly and a wicked overhand-right KO from Alex Ricci. The fight of the night was a spirited (and bloody) bout between Bellator vet Nick Mamalis and Toronto’s Adrian Wooley, which ended with a controversial split decision for the out-of-towner. Full results below:

Mike Reilly def. Tyler Hardcastle via KO (slam), round two

Thanks to the Score for bringing their product to our neck of the woods. Here’s to more big MMA cards in Mississauga in the near future.
